Welcome to the Evans laboratory

PhD. position in Zika virus recombination available – now filled.

This is the research website of the Evans group at the University of St. Andrews, School of Biology.

We study the biology of RNA viruses. In particular we are interested in viruses with single-stranded, positive-sense RNA genomes, such as the enterovirus poliovirus, flaviviruses such as hepatitis C virus and Deformed Wing Virus of honeybees. We study many aspects of the transmission, replication, pathogenesis and control of these viruses. Further details of current research on human enteroviruses and the viruses of honeybees are provided on separate pages.

Our current research is funded by the BBSRC and we have previous (and hopefully future 😉 ) funding from The Wellcome Trust, the MRC, charities and private donors.

Current group membership and our recent publications are listed separately. Please also have a look at recent news about group activities – preprints, invited talks etc.

Thank you for your interest in our research
